India’s First Citizen Powered Property Review And Fraud Reporting Platform.
Taking The Fight To The Rich, Corrupt And Powerful
Buying a property is, and will remain as the top most ambition and dream of 99% of the citizens of India. Most still can’t afford to buy a house in this country, and for the ones who could afford, it takes a lifetime to pay for the costs and manage the mortgage. Wherever such large sums of amount are involved, there is bound to be impropriety, fraud and con involved. The vultures follow the money and this makes real estate sort of shark-infested waters.
My name is Shweta. I, the founder of Propertyfraud.com, was born in Ghaziabad, a city near the Capital of India – Delhi. It was where I completed my education before migrating to Memphis (USA) with my husband in the 90’s. The memories of 80’s and 90’s, my father’s struggle with a real estate developer cum land mafia, and seeing his entire savings vanish, and his pension spent on fighting a relentless (and ultimately unsuccessful due to his passing away) court case to try and recover his investment back are still etched in my mind. It still hurts to see the same builder move on as if nothing ever happened. They destroyed dozens of families, took away their life’s saving, and not one bit of protest, news or archive available anywhere.
Real estate in India attracts the rich and powerful to invest. And by rich and powerful, we mean the corrupt and dangerous. Politicians, Mafias, Criminals, Organized Gangs, Corrupt Officials, Racketeers. Real Estate has become a parallel economy and currency. So much is at stake, that it becomes essential for these people to collaborate to protect their nexus.
For a country of 1.2 Billion people, the world’s largest democracy, which prides itself for free-speech and tolerance, isn’t it alarming that there is not a single critic website on real estate ? No platform for a common person to raise his voice and complaint. The few real-estate listing sites censor any negative review and complaint posted against builders and properties.
Understandable since these are the ‘paying clients’ for these websites. You seldom see any real-estate related fraud in the news media, newspapers, web-portals, because it’s common knowledge that the PR companies have established control and mitigate any negative critique to leak through.
Propertyfraud.com is therefore more than just a complaint platform. It is an initiative which will transfer power to the consumer and provide them a platform to voice their opinion. We encourage the consumers and citizens to expose the wrongdoings in the real estate industry without having to worry about their safety or prosecution. Propertyfraud.com censors no one. We don’t fear these mighty rich and powerful people. We’re set up in USA, under a team of eminent lawyers and activists, and have no footprint in India where a one-sided censorship can hamper our efforts. We will never reveal your information to anyone, under any circumstances whatsoever.
We cannot change this industry. But we surely can help take everyone notice of what’s wrong in it. And we will do so without prejudice and fear. These initial months after launch are just a preview of whats to come. Be assured, there is a lot of work going on in the background, and you will be the first to know.
