Acting as MN drive of the National Police Support Fund

A local number came up on my phone so I answered the call. They identified themselves as the Minnesota Drive of the National Police Support Fund. They asked me 3 to 4 times if I promised to pay the pledge I agreed upon. Then they wanted my CC information, which I DID NOT give. I told them to send a pledge card. I did receive the pledge card and was surprised to see this is a "GRASSROOTS MOVEMENT of Americans from all walks of life who are joined together by their common respect for the rule of law and united in their support for the police officers who uphold the law every day in their communities." Also, the pledge said it is a NON-CHARITABLE 527, so it’s not a tax deductible gift. I feel they misrepresented themselves over the phone and I will not be sending the pledged amount. I just googled the name and information and found several "scam" notifications with the ScamPulse.com and the Federal Trade Commission.
