Grandparent impostor scam

A young man with a British accent called my elderly mother claiming he was her grandson, Chris and that he had been in a bad accident and ran over a woman. She immediately asked him his last name and he wouldn’t tell her so she hung up. She was scammed like this 3 years ago.
