Company received a phone call form a person imitating another business. Ordered approximately $25,000 worth of merchandise (Insulation Materials). The orders were placed in increments ranging from $4200 to $5000. The products were picked up by by a third party using a rental vehicle who are also likely victims of this scam. A charge back was place on the charges because the credit card used was stolen/counterfeit. Since the credit card was taken over the phone the company was liable and the credit card processing company was unable to assist. Company was required to go through theft insurance and incurred the cost of the deductibles. The person placing the order imitated a legitimate insulation company who has been a victim of identity theft.
